Azelis introduces the OPPANOL® polyisobutene line from BASF!
Azelis CASE recently became the officially authorized distributor of the BASF OPPANOL® line of medium and high molecular weight polyisobutenes (PIBs). An inert thermoplastic ideally suited to enhance product effectiveness, the OPPANOL® poly-isobutene product family can enable formulations that provide a water vapor barrier, electrical insulation, good adhesion, flexibility at low temperatures (cold flow) or no skin irritation. The unique range of properties, combined in a single product, make OPPANOL® the solution for a wide range of different applications.
The wide product line of the OPPANOL® ensures the right product for your application!
OPPANOL® medium molecular weight PIBs
OPPANOL® MM PIB grades come in the form of a clear, highly viscous liquid. These grades offer a range of tack levels and can be used to modulate the adhesion characteristics of a sealant. These also provide cold flow characteristics – meaning if applied in a layer and the coating/sealing is scratched, the surrounding PIB will slowly spread to “heal” the blemish.
OPPANOL® high molecular weight PIBs
OPPANOL® HM PIB grades are used for producing adhesives, sealants, lubricating oils, and coating compounds. It comes in the form of a tough, rubbery highly cohesive solid that resists tearing.
