Modified polysiloxane
Modified silicone for improvement of levelling and surface smoothness of solvent containing and aqueous paints TYPE: Modified silicone for improvement of levelling and surface smoothness of solvent containing and aqueous paints FORM OF DELIVERY (f.o.d.): Active substance: approx. 40 % SPECIAL PROPERTIES: Additol VXL 4930 may be used in all solvent-containing and water-dilutable paint systems. It promotes the spray dust absorption, prevents orange peel and increases scratch resistance. SUGGESTED USES: Additol VXL 4930 is effective at low concentrations and at the correct dosage,does not adversely affect intercoat adhesion. Blistering, cratering and floating in pigment blends are effectively prevented. It does not stabilize the foam during paint production and application. The substrate wetting is advanced. Additol VXL 4930 is used primarily in industrial stoving/baking paints and 2K PUR paint systems. PROCESSING: The added quantity varies between 0.05 - 0.3 %, calculated on total formula. Additol VXL 4930 can be added during any phase of the paint production; in water-borne systems Additol VXL 4930 is preferably added to the mill base. The necessary quantity of Additol VXL 4930 to be added to the paint should be determined in pre-trials because of the variety of formulating possibilities. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: Additol VXL 4930 has a better spray dust absorption than Additol XL 122.

Silicone glycol
ADDITOL® XL 121 -flow/leveling/levelling- is a paint additive to enhance mar resistance and levelling of air drying and stoving paints, particularly for silicone modified air drying and stoving alkyd resins. SUGGESTED USES: Additol XL 121 is a silicone containing paint additive supplied as low-viscous solution. Additol XL 121 enhances mar resistance of solvent-borne paints by reducing the surface resistance of the paint film. Additol XL 121 improves levelling and prevents film structures and thus enhances film performance in general. Additol XL 121 is suited for air drying alkyds, stoving alkyds, thermosetting acrylic resins, nitrocellulose paints, acid curing paints,alkyd-acrylate-isocyanate systems, and particularly for air drying and stoving-silicone modified alkyd resins. The effect of Additol XL 121 depends on the type of paint system and on the formulation. The quantity of Additol XL 121 may range from 0.1 - 0.5 % on paint as a guide. PROCESSING: For optimum distribution, Additol XL 121 is added prior to final adjustment of the viscosity and the colour shade. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: In difference to Additol XL 122, Additol XL 121 shows better over spray acceptance.

Solubility: DEGALAN®LP 53/13 C is soluble in esters, ketones, glycol ethers and styrene; insoluble in alcohols, aliphatichydrocarbons. Compatibility:DEGALAN®LP 53/13 C is compatible with the most PVC copolymers, nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber,plasticizers. It is incompatible with cellulose acetobutyrate / acetopropionate, alkyd, epoxyester and silicon resin.

Butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer.
Butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer. Provides enhanced toughness/flexibility of thermoset resins. Increases low temperature mechanical properties and impact/crack resistance. Provides sound dampening properties. Used for solution, powder and waterborne coatings. Improves durability (fatigue resistance) and adhesion with difficult to bond substrates.
