APPLICATION Topcoats for industrial applications. ACURE AQ 620-100 has to be combined with a catalyst (e.g. ACURE 600). The suitable dosage of ACURE 600 must be adjusted to the specific formulation requirements. Typically ACURE 600 is used at a level of 3 to 6 %-wt. based on ACURE AQ 620-100. Topcoats based on ACURE AQ 620-100 can be cured at ambient temperature. To accelerate cure, forced drying at up to 80 °C can be applied after the coating has been allowed to flash-off (min. 40 min). Acidic components used aside of ACURE AQ 620-100 in a formulation can inhibit the cure. Therefore the choice of formulation components as well as substrates to be coated must be done with care. Topcoats based on ACURE AQ 620-100 work well in combination with primer layers based on water-based epoxy (e.g. BECKOPOX™ EP 2384w/57WA cured with BECKOCURE® EH 2261w/41WA or BECKOPOX EP 2387w/53WA cured with BECKOCURE EH 2100w/44WA to avoid sanding).
