Gardacid® P 32 is an inhibited hydrochloric acid-based cleaner designed for rapid removal of rust and hard water scale from ferrous metal and water-circulating equipment. It also effectively strips heat scale, oxide coatings, and plating such as chromium, zinc, and cadmium. Suitable for use in federally inspected meat and poultry plants, it operates at concentrations from 5–50% and up to 60°C (140°F). The product is phosphorus-free, has slight foaming tendency, and offers good rinsability, although dried-on inhibitor films may be harder to remove. Gardacid P 32 meets MIL-DTL-13528C requirements and is not recommended for use on cast iron, magnesium, aluminum, or low chrome alloy steels.
