On the path to sustainable crop protection performance

This growth is mainly driven by rising awareness of environmental concerns, consumers’ increasing demand for sustainable agricultural practices, and the need for effective pest management solutions (Ken Research, 2025). 

As the agricultural industry moves towards more sustainable crop protection practices, adjuvants play an increasingly important role in maximising the effectiveness of crop protection while balancing environmental concerns. Under this series lies the AgroSpred™ product range. This series delivers proven results in tank-mix and in-can formulations, drone-based spraying, biologicals, and foam control. The organosilicone-based solutions help growers achieve superior deposition, spreading, penetration, and rainfastness (refers to the mode of action on adhesion, uptake and intensity) — it is a sustainable adjuvant from Momentive, developed without alkylphenol non-ionic (APEO)-based surfactants to reduce environmental impact. APEO-based surfactants which can be further branched to octylphenol (OP) and nonylphenol (NP) surfactants are known to interfere with the developmental system of wildlife. The degradation of these surfactants can leave a mark in the ecosystems and are less favorable to the environment. 

We take a closer look at AgroSpred™ 960, a D-limonene infused, orange peel oil compatible adjuvant that safely dissolves the wax coating on insects and leaves. Its unique oil-based properties, combine high performance penetration and sustainability profile, setting it apart as a more sustainable and environmentally friendly option compared to traditional oil adjuvants.
